The deal, agreed upon in Montreal, will be voluntarily for all until 2026 but most states are expected to take part. The emissions caused by air traffic are nearly as high as those produced by Germany. The agreement is an unprecedent deal. The main issue is to allow CO2 growth only until 2020. After that it will be completely offset.
