For quite some time now, Apple has been working on a technology, enabling the monitoring of the sugar levels of people with skin contact, rather than invasive blood tests. According to CNBC, the team working on the technology consists of about 30 engineers and biomedical experts. Steve Job’s vision of wearable devices to monitor the glucose levels, inspires this project and it has made a significant progress since then, in spite of facing various technological challenges. Google, through its Life Sciences division, is also reported to be working on something similar using a contact lens technology.
