Apple has revealed that they will now offer people interactive HomeKit experiences in 46 of its retail stores worldwide. Until now, people did not have the possibility to test what the HomeKit is about without buying the appliances. With this change, they will be able to use the Home app from either an Apple Watch, iPhone or iPad to control devices like the Philips Hue light bulb, the Hunter ceiling fan and many more.
The goal is probably to familiarize the public with the capabilities of the HomeKit, democratizing home automation and making people more comfortable with the technology before the decision to spend money. Right now, there is no statement as to how long this service will be available.
