In their annual Environment Responsibility Report, published last week, Apple says it is aiming at using 100 percent recycled materials for their electronic products. Facilitating a system in which only renewable resources or recycled materials are used, the company hopes to reduce its reliance on mined raw materials.

Apple also highlighted their Apple Renew scheme, in the framework of which customers are encouraged to recycle their old iPhones and Macbooks. They also received first place in Greenpeace’s global league table that ranks technology companies for their decarbonization efforts.

Apple already sourced 96 percent of the energy it used from renewable energy in 2016.
