Australia’s Department of Immigration and Border Protection is aiming at replacing the passport control at its international airports by a systems for biometric recognition of the face, iris and/or fingerprints. International passengers arriving at the airport could speed through without interacting with humans. It makes the arrival process more efficient and passengers on watch lists could be better identified.
