Australia ratified the Paris Climate Agreement on Thursday. It is the 140th country to ratify the accord. Australia is on track to meet its climate goals by 2020. The ratification confirms the targets to reduce emissions by 26 to 28 percent below 2005 levels by 2030. As one of the leading industrial nations, Australia has not ratified the Kyoto Protocol but now it has set comparable targets with other advanced economies.
