Chinese internet giant, Baidu is all set to follow Google’s footsteps by making much of its self-driving platform technology freely available to automakers. Baidu’s president Qi Lu aims at creating a collaborative ecosystem using the AI’s strength to encourage greater inovations and opportunities. According to experts, this step may have been isnpired by Google’s decision to release Android, which has resulted in a long term economic gains for the company. Group president Qi Lu said, “China is the world’s largest market for automotive sales and production. It has many car brands and an open environment that is ripe for collaboration.”
