Scientists around the world are looking for ways to reduce infrastructural damage that earthquakes cause. One of the approaches draws on mobility technology: by means of magnetic levitation, bullet trains can reduce friction considerably and reach high speeds. According to a professor at Canterbury University, the same technology could be applied for buildings and bridges in regions often hit by earthquakes. The disconnected infrastructure would not get damaged by earthquakes anymore.
