Bus operators from Germany and South Tyrol, Italy are partnering to procure 63 fuel cell buses for operation in public transport. Led by Wuppertal-based WSW mobil GmbH, the partners include Verkehrs-Verbund Mainz-Wiesbaden GmbH; traffiQ Frankfurt; Regionalverkehr Köln GmbH (all Germany); and SASA SpA-AG in Bolzano (Italy). This activity comes under the JIVE (Joint Initiative for hydrogen Vehicles across Europe) project. JIVE was developed to deploy 139 new zero emission fuel cell buses across nine cities and this procurement will make JIVE the largest fuel cell bus project in Europe. FCH JU will provide the cluster management support under Dr. Frank Koch (EE ENERGY ENGINEERS GmbH, Gelsenkirchen) und Heinrich Klingenberg (hySOLUTIONS GmbH, Hamburg).
