A new Californian legislation requires certain buildings in California have to be equipped with solar panel installations. All residential and commercial buildings under 10 stories already need to have 15 percent of the roof clear of obstructions and shade so that they are ready for solar installations. Buildings constructed after January 1st are subject to the ordinance.
