A new carbon currency system has been developed by Swiss non-profit Poseidon, which put a carbon value on everyday products using the blockchain platform Stellar.org. This will make it easier for customers and businesses to keep track of their carbon footprints. Carbon pricing will be made mainstream this way today in New York.
“There is significant scope for companies to capitalise on the increasing demands of their consumers, investors, and employees to demonstrate sustainability, responsible supply chains, and positive environmental action,” Poseidon founder Laszlo Giricz will say later today.
