Cenex, a UK low carbon and fuel cell technology enterprise, put the first charging station into operation that works both ways, national electricy system to car, but also car to electricity grid when demand peaks.
The single station is used to research the potential of such a bi-directional system. Ebbs and Flows of Energy Systems (EFES), the superordinated project, tries to evaluate to what extent private electric cars can make battery storage capacity available, and how they can interact with the national energy system.
