China unveils its 13th Five-Year-Plan on Energy Development

On January 5, 2017 the Chinese National Energy Administration unveiled its 13th Five-Year-Plan on Energy Development (Energy 13FYP) which is a anticipated energy blueprint for the carbon trajectory of China. The plan contains a set of 2020 targets covering aspects such as the total energy consumption to installed wind energy capacity. However, this plan is not entirely new. Many targets are in line with exisiting ones, already formulated in the Strategic Energy Action Plan (2014-2020).
