Consumers skeptical towards smart-home and IoT devices

A recent survey by Gartner suggests that the majority of people is not as keen on home IoT products as the industry would hope. The survey found that close to two thirds of consumers were worried about devices eavesdropping on their conversations, and that most respondents felt they just did not need a smarter home. With the most purchased products being home security systems at 18 percent of consumers, one of the only solutions offered to the problem is introducing subscription fees for home IoT devices.
