Costa Rica pig farm efficiently produces renewable energy

A pig farm in Costa Rica run by Juan Carlos Saenz produces energy from slurry and slaughterhouse waste which is converted into biogas. The methane gas which is released is used to power the electricity generator. The biogas plant has already saved 60 percent of the farm’s energy costs and reduced the greenhouse gas emissions. Saenz pig farm is one of the biggest in the country.
