In the framework of a crowdsourcing project, online volunteers use machine learning algorithms to identify slavery sites such as brick kilns in South Asia with the help of satellite images. The collected data can then be passed on to local charities or authorities, so they know where to better direct their anti-slavery efforts. Up until now, the volunteers have recognized over 4000 potential sites of forced labor with about 400 satellite images taken with Google Earth.
