During a speech at the Davos World Economic Forum the Chinese President Xi Jinping urged Donald Trump to implement the Paris climate agreement. He said all signatories must stick to climate agreement to limit global temperature rises below 2 degrees Celsius. China is taking the leading role in the fight against global warming. At the beginning of January China confirmed to invest 360 billion USD in renewable energy through 2020 to reduce emissions. Moreover, the government has suspended 101 coal-power projects in 11 provinces in order to cut carbon dioxide emissions.
