Researchers at the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands have developed a technique to print custom materials using bacteria that is 3D-printed itself. Making chemicals from bacteria is well established, but producing materials like graphene is most like unprecedented. The process is cheap and easily replicated by scientists around the world as regular 3D printers were used in test runs. Being environmentally friendly is a welcome bonus.
