In Redwood City, California, and Washington, D.C., businesses can order food which is delivered by a robot. An Estonia-based startup, Starship Technologies, has put its autonomous ground-delivery robots to work with Postmates in Washington D.C. and DoorDash in Redwood City. The robots have six wheels and weigh about 40 pounds. They travel four miles per hour. The robots work like a real delivery person. They go to restaurants, get loaded and deliver to the adress. Then they go on to the next restaurant and repeat the procedure.
