British cleaning products firm Delphis Eco has developed a plastic bottle that might lead to plastic packaging being endlessly recycled into new packaging for products. Five years in the making, it is hailed as a closed loop breakthrough in the industry.

“By driving this change to our packaging – which incidentally, many people said couldn’t be done – we have taken 500 tonnes of carbon emissions out of the equation,” chief executive Mark Jankovich said. Now, if larger brands follow suit, that might have an enormous positive effect on the environment.

The bottle will be rolled out across Delphi’s range of eco cleaning products this week.
