Animal Dynamics has engineered Skeeter, a drone with dragonfly-inspired flapping wings instead of copter blades. This results in a better response rate that is not as dependent on the wing loading. Skeeter is funded by the U.K.’s Ministry of Defence, via the Defence Science and Technology Lab (DSTL), and will be officially demonstrated in 2018.
