The city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is collaborating with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to create the Global Smart Sustainable Cities Index. The project aims to set the standard for smart cities worldwide and to encourage other cities “to transform themselves into more sustainable and technologically capable communities”.
