An electric airplane has set a new world record. The electric-drive Extra 330LE aerobatics plane set the record in the category of “Electric aircraft weighing up to 1000 kilograms. The plane reached an altitude of 3000 metres in four minutes and 22 seconds. It went up in the air at 11,5 meters per second. The aircraft is equipped with a SP260D electric drive system constructed by Siemens. The system has a power output of 260 kW.
