Ericsson has introduced a 5G mobile network platform including a 5G core, radio and transportation portfolio as well as digital support systems, transformation services and security. The network platform should help mobile network operators to upgrade their networks towards 5G, as well. The platform includes federated network slices for 5G roaming, a slice management to automate service connections, secure quality and reduce costs. Furthermore, there will be a 5G policy and user data to ensure service quality, just to name a few features. The company estimates the next generation of mobile networks would represent a 582 billion USD market opportunity by the end of 2026.
