The Brussels-based European Committee of the Regions (CoR) and the European Parliament will push the EU towards more ambitious waste management directives and a stronger circular economy action plan. Cities and regions build a coaltion, together with the Parliament’s Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, to strengthen and catalyze the circular economy through higher reuse and recycling targets to cut waste landfill and reinforce extended producer responsibilities. The economic impact of the waste legislative could create 180000 direct jobs by 2030.
