The Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment (ACE) trade body has published data that shows that about 430,000 tonnes of cardboard drinks cartons were recycled at 20 paper mills in 2016 around Europe. This puts the recycling rate for cardboard drinks cartons at 47 percent, 3 percent more than the year before.
The trend for the ascending rate is now unbroken since 2005, and the total rate including both recycling and energy recovery of cartons hit 76 percent as well.
