Public transportation is often considered less and less convenient in comparison to services like Uber that offer door-to-door service. European railway companies have created apps to tackle the problem, and allow for integrating every form of transportation into the search for your travels. The Swiss railway, SBB, has the SBB Reiseplaner, Germany and Austria have similar applications with Qixxit and BusBahnBim respectively. As people customize their transportation, they realize that public transit is often cheaper as well as faster. Consumers in the US have the same demands, and are waiting for the system to catch up.
