Ethical fashion figurehead and designer Stella McCartney, circular economy pioneer Ellen MacArthur have started a campaign to decrease textile waste production in the fashion industry. After a report from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation revealed that massive amounts of textile are wasted every second, and that the fashion industry will consume a quarter of the world’s carbon budget by 2050 if trends continue.
The campaign seeks to encourage companies to make sure clothes last longer, that they can be rented and resold easily, and be recycled without being harmful to the environment.
