In a coooperation between Uber and Anheuser-Busch InBev, the first autonomous truck successfully covered a preprogrammed distance of 120 miles to deliver 50,000 cans of Budweiser beer. For supervising the truck, a police vehicle rode behind it and a human driver was in the sleeper cab. This experiment in a real set of environment demonstrates the potentials for driverless vehicles even though the technology still needs to be developed further. The logistics industry and factories expect great cuts in costs once driverless technology can be applied on a broad scale.
