A company located in Argentina has developed the first South American electric car. The travel distance of 100 km costs about 0,78 USD which are huge savings compared to a car which is run by gasoline, the same travel distance costs around 12,98 USD. The gel acid batteries need to be charged after around 70 km. In 2016 the company produced 150 cars, in 2017 the company will have the capacity to produce between 500 and 600 cars. However electric vehicles are not that popular throughout South America because of the costs and the lack of awareness of its benefits.
