Ford’s Electric Qualified Vehicle Modifier (eQVM) program has qualified 3 companies making electric powertrains for its chassis in the ford’s new lineup of commerical trucks with variants ranging from some part of powertrain to either hybrid or plug-in hybrid or even all-electric. Ford’s F-150 pick up truck chassis is also supposed to be used with one of the hybrid powertrains with a battery capacity of over 10kWh. The three companies include XL Hybrids for Ford Transit, E-350 and E-450 chassis as well as plug-in hybrid uplift for F-150 pickup among others. The second company is Motiv which will offer electric powertrain for the Ford E-450 and F-59 chassis. Lightning Hybrids is the third company to offer non-electric hybrid energy recovery syststem for Ford E-350, E-450, F-550, F-650, F-750 and F-59 chassis.
