Ford’s CEO Mark Fields explained his company’s vision for moving into urban planning projects within 15 or 20 years in an interview. According to Fields people and the car industry have to prepare for a future in which people get around by using all kinds of transportation such as driverless cars, ride-sharing, trains, buses, bicycles and by foot. Therefore, Ford is focusing on every kind of transportation especially as riding-sharing and bikes since they become more popular and driverless cars emerge rapidly. In the far future, the company aims at connecting the different modes of transportation for example cars and street lights.
