Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Portland have allied to ask automakers whether they can produce an order of 24,000 electric vehicles which is record breaking. The cities describe it as the first step in a formal process. This inquiry is the first that unites municipalities from different states. The order of 24,000 vehicles is part of the cities strategy to cut greenhouse gas emissions, decrease the reliance on fossil fuels and improve air quality.
