In oder to avoid opening a dirty door with a shoulder-push, scientists from the UK developed a special textile that can be mounted on doors where people touch it to walk through. Labelled Surfaceskins, the low-cost product dispenses a small portion of disinfecting gel whenever they are touched. Thereby reducing bacteria levels by 90 percent. Compared to other products on the market, this one works instantly and lasts for many uses while being easily replaceable.
