In order to give the motorists an ease to pay for tolls outside the U.S., Gentex is planning to expand its vehicle-integrated toll payment system to Mexico and Canada. The system, Integrated Toll Module (ITM) will allow the motorists to pay using their accounts on all North American toll roads and will save the motorists from having to use multiple toll tags or accounts for different regions. “Today, Gentex’s ITM enables the car owner to enjoy a hassle-free driving experience using managed lanes and toll roads across the U.S., Canada and Mexico, but ITM also establishes a foundation for future car-to-infrastructure transactions,” Gentex’s CFO Steve Downing said.
