As more and more small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) look to follow big corporations in their efforts for sustainability, they are confronted with complex processes and high costs. Experts and executives from The Planet Mark™ and the Turnkey Group shared advice for SMEs to save energy, improve efficiency and build sustainable supply chains in an interview.

Sustainability is becoming a key business driver and strategic differentiator for brands, and strong standards are a must to get certifications. Because those are expensive and too complicated in relation to the scale of the businesses, going sustainable proves a challenge.

In the interview, experts suggest engaging employees to start looking at resource efficiency, measuring results to diferrentiate and attract customers and using one of the many available tools that can make the implementation process of sustainable practices easier.
