Last November Google Maps added real-time data to its software so that users get information about crowded places. With the help of anonymized data from people’s smart phones, Google Maps is able to show how crowded a place is. Now this real-time functionality will also be brought to iPhones. When real-time data is available for a certain place the user is looking for, the user will see a “Live” badge above the bar chart followed by a description like “not busy”.
