Broadband services of Post Office customers have been disrupted by a cyber attack. Mirai worm, a piece of malware, was used by the attackers, the same as in the Deutsche Telekom incident last weekend. While security experts first assumed that the attackers failed in hacking routers of Deutsche Telekom as no malware has been installed, they are now suggesting that in both cases, the goal might have been to simply disrupt services. Post Office stated that the attack did not cause any damage to personal data or devices and that steps have been taken to improve cybersecurity.
