In order to draw attention to the illegal disposal of cellphones, Greenpeace interrupted a press conference of Samsung to put pressure on the company to appropriately dispose the recalled Galaxy Note 7. According to the environmental organization, there are about 4.3m handsets to be recycled. A spokesperson of Samsung declared that the company is working on a safe and environmentally-friendly waste management plan. According to UN figures, 90 percent of e-waste is disposed illegally, and often send offshore.
