Urban gardening has been a trend for some time now and architects have started to pick up and incorporate it in the design of new buildings. The Vietnamese design firm H&P Architects examplified with a home in the city of Ha Tinh how to connect modern housing with urban gardening. The Terraces House allows to grow food and other plants on nine terraces that simultaneously provide shade and clean air. Additionally it builds on the traditional rice agriculture on terraced fields.
