HSBC, to throw a wrench into the plans of the cybercrime community, has launched the HSBC Safeguard App Competition in Hong Kong. Students and startups are incentivized to develop app prototypes to solve actual challenges for banks, for example making sure their customer data is up-to-date and accurate.
“HSBC’s aim is to harness local talent and technological know-how to help us collect up-to-date information about customers in a way that is simple and convenient for them. I cannot wait to see the great ideas that emerge,” Diana Cesar, Chief Executive, Hong Kong, HSBC, said.
