The South Korean automobile giant, Hyundai has established pilot-scale production facilities, to facilitate the solid-state EV batteries production for its vehicles. Due to the high energy density, safety and reliability, the Solid-state rechargeable batteries are becoming increasingly popular in the EV market. Hyundai itself is investing and participating in a number of research projects in the Solid-state battery domain. Some of the prominent projects funded by Hyundai include Korea Institute of Ceramic Engineering and Technology (KICET) and Tsinghua University in Chin , Hanyang University in Korea, and the University of Texas at Austin led by Professor John Goodenough. Several other automakers including Toyota, VW and Ford have already shown interest in the solid-state battery technology.
