India could learn from China and invest in electric motorcycles

80,000 electric buses were added to fleets in China, making China an industry leader in the field. What China did was to identify and prioritize one sector, and build on that. This is now helping the country’s commitment to reduce climate intensity by 60-65 percent from 2005 levels by 2030, and reduce air pollution.

India, in the same vain, industry experts think, could put its focus on electric motorcycles and auto-rickshaws, which should be a better entry point for the country’s electric mobility transformation.
