The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy in India has plans to auction off 20 gigawatts of solar power capacity in the coming months to ramp up the production of solar modules and decrease the cost of solar power as a whole.
To meet its goal of having an installed solar power capacity of 100 gigawatts by March 2022, India will have to launch multiple high scale tenders like that one as capacity right now only stands at about 15 gigawatts.
