Five Indian states (Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh) are about to replace 1,067 MW of energy from conventional power plants with solar power for irrigation projects. Since those projects do not need a 24/7 supply it is easier to provide them with solar energy.
