As Indonesia produces more waste than ever, its generated plastic trash is especially damaging: In 2015, the country was responsible for the second-largest amount of plastic garbage found in the world’s oceans. After recent floods in Bandung were carrying heaps of plastic, Indonesia’s parliament will now debate a tax that aims to reduce plastic waste.
