Internet of Things is all set to revolutionize retail

With around 70% of the global retail decision makers ready to adopt the Internet of Things to improve the customer experiences and 73% of retailers rating managing big data as business-critical, IoT is certainly all set to revolutionize the retail inbdustry accprding to the latest zebra 2017 Retail Vision Study. With an input from around 1700 retail decision makers from North America, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Europe and Middle East, 78% of retailers say that integration of e-commerce and in-store experiences is very important along with 87% of retailers deploying mobile point-of-sclae (MPOS) devices by 2021 enabling them to scan, accept credit or debit payments anywhere in the store. The respondent spectrum comprises of a wide retail sector including speciality stores, department stores, apparel merchants, supermarkets, electronics, home improvement and drugstore chains etc. One other interesting fact which emerged form the study was that 90% of the retailers aim to implement buy online, pickup in store by 2021.
