The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) is to sanction the equivalent of $2 billion from 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018 for renewable energy projects. This marks a steady increase of loan sanctions and loan disbursements since 2007. IREDA is also setting up The Clean Energy Equity Fund (CEEF), also worth $2 billion. Contributions are to be collected from the Indian government as well as state-owned companies.
