Keolis’ Navya to start its year long real-world testing soon

In Montreal, Canada Keolis has been selected to deploy its autonomous electric bus for a testing period of one-year under real-world conditions. Named as Navya, the shuttle beat Transdev’s EasyMile electric bus. According to Keolis, in the year long testing project, Navya will be tested under winter conditions on a one-kilometre route, with real passengers in a real-life city environment in the city of Terrebonne. Navy has a capability to carry up to 15 passengers with a top speed of 45kmph. Patrick Gilloux President and Chief Operating Officer of Keolis Canada said, ” The UITP Summit is the perfect venue at which to present the product, which offers a solution for the initial and final stages of a trip. We believe that electric vehicles represent the future of public transit, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to test this new autonomous vehicle here as a Canadian first. The enthusiasm for the project is already contagious.” ” We look forward to the Montreal demonstration of this product, which is a viable response to the problems faced by cities today: congestion, pollution, and parking,” Christophe Sapet, NAVYA’s CEO, further added.

Transdev’s EasyMile has also started its limited week testing phase on the esplanade du Stade olympique in Montreal.
