According to a leaked slide from a product presentation the VW Group is going to launch eight New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in China. NEVs include electric vehicles (EVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and hydrogen vehicles. VW is already running two joint ventures in China (FAW- and Shanghai-Volkswagen). Soon a third one will be added, called JAC-Volkswagen. The latter will sell affordable EVs under a new brand which has been unknown so far. The eight new NEVs cover a large part of the market but there will be strong competition. Six of the eight new NEVs are to be manufactured by VW itself, the two left will be produced by Audi.
